First exposure to the martial arts, was in 1972, studying Tae Kwon-Do with Trân Triêu Quân, at Sainte-Foy, in Quebec (Canada).  Training was interrupted for a period of several years, eventually returning to Tae Kwon-Do and earning 1st Degree Black Belt in 1983.  At this time, also began studying Pekiti-Tirsia Kali with Ray Zwicker of Ottawa. In 1984 enrolled in Jiu-Jitsu, also with Ray Zwicker and later with Jules Ladouceur.

In '85, began training with Bob Carver in JKD/Muay Thai.  In 1987, during a stay in England, trained in Judo, and in Wado-Ryu Karate.  Upon returning to Canada, continued with Jiu-Jitsu, Kali, and JKD, earning 1st Dan in Jiu-Jitsu (1988).  During this period, I was also training at the Beaver Boxing Club.

Early '89, moved to London, England.  Continued studying Jiu-Jitsu at the Frimley Budokan (with Mike Johnson), and at the East London Jiu-Jitsu Club (with Derroll Connelly).  The following year, JKD/Muay Thai with Bob Breen at "The Academy". During this period, also studied Pentjak-Silat with Richard de Bordes.

Moved to Greece in 1993, and returned to Judo; this time with Thanasis Kaparos.  Back to Canada from late '97, graded to 3rd dan in Jiu-Jitsu.  At this time, was also training in JKD/Muay Thai (again with Bob Carver). 

Returned to Greece in '98, and trained privately until 2004.  For the next year-and-a-half, studied FCS Kali.  In 2007, started full-contact stick fighting.  In 2009 and 2010, fought in Dog Brothers Gatherings. In 2010, made DBMA Group Leader and was accepted into the Dog Brothers Tribe !
