Dog Brothers 2009 Euro Gathering

On July 24th 2009, I flew to Switzerland to fight at the Dog Brothers 2009 Euro Gathering. In this, participants wearing light protective gloves and a fencing mask use sticks (or other weapons) in full-contact, no-holds-barred, one-on-one fights. There are no judges, no referees, no trophies; only the chance to test oneself and improve as a fighter. This year, there were over fourty fighters from Switzerland, Germany, England, Scotland, Italy, Spain, France, Poland, the USA, and for the first time ever, from Greece. I fought four fights over two days, and look forward to participating in 2010 as well. "No judges, no referees, no trophies. One rule only: Be friends at the end of the day. This means our goal is that no one spends the night in the hospital. Our goal is that everyone leaves with the IQ with which they came..." From the preamble used to start each Dog Brothers Gathering |
